Chile Earthquake Earth's AxisThe devastating earthquake that struck the world's largest copper producing nation last weekend has sent the price for the metal up by 2.1 per cent to $3.35 a pound.Chile's biggest copper mines hit by a massive earthquake slowly resumed operations on Sunday despite limited power supplies.
Chile's vast reserves of copper and other minerals such as molybdenum, zinc, gold, silver, manganese, etc. While the country has sufficient generation capacity, energy minister Marcelo Tokman said that transmission and distribution networks were still experiencing problems.
